My husband, Daniel, and I are owned by two cats, Rutherford B. Barrett, (aka. Bubby--top pic) and Oliver Monkey. The kitties run the household; we just pay the mortgage.
As a counselor with a specialty in pet loss, I’ve developed and facilitated pet loss support groups for animal shelter and veterinary hospital staff and clients. In addition, I've traveled nationally to co-facilitate workshops on compassion fatigue for animal shelter staff and animal control officers. My published articles have been featured in various magazines and on “The Signal,” a Baltimore NPR program as an expert on pet loss. My YouTube channel, “Psychology Snippets,” discusses Psychology topics in small, bite-sized videos.
BURIED DEEP IN OUR HEARTS, my debut novel celebrates the important bond with our animals and honors their memory. My upcoming book, FINDING HER SPIRIT is a coming-of-age novel about the many ways horses touch the life of a horse-loving girl, despite the fact she can’t have one.
When not writing or speaking, Daniel and I and create videos for our YouTube channel, Travel Odysseys. I also love geeking out on psychology, horseback riding, singing, playing the piano, dancing, being on or near water, movies, and quoting “Golden Girls” and “Friends” episodes.
And, yes, I want to see pics of your animals.
